How It Started

I was walking home with my friend, and he asked if I wanted him crochet me something. I said that I would greatly appreciate it, and that it was very nice of him to do that for me. After I had heard the word “crochet” I immediately got to researching. My sister had some old yarn and a hook, so I decided to try. I started by learning the basics and learned to make a scarf. I wanted to continue the scarf, but it didn’t interest me. I was going to quit the hobby until I found out that you can make stuffed animals. I started by going to the yarn store and picked out some colors to get to work on.

The next day, I started to look at some free patterns to try out, and when I had looked at the instructions it was taking a pop quiz in a different universe. I took to the wonderful source of YouTube and learned the different stitches, and it was very confusing, but I got the hang of it. Fast forward about two weeks, I had made somewhat of a purple dinosaur with basically no detail. I sewed on pieces of white for eyes, and I liked it, but I wanted to go bigger. I was still proud that I managed to complete something, and I liked it.

I had spent over a month on this art, and I had not made anything other than the dinosaur if that’s what you want to call it, so I tried to freehand some stuff. The stuff I made was mostly geese. I was becoming bored of free handing my items, so I decided to take back to the internet and try out some patterns and give the product to my family. They said that they liked them and that kept me going. I was having some much fun and decided to make a giraffe for my grandpa for his birthday and he texted me back telling me how much he appreciated it, I also made my grandma some washcloths, along with making my group of friends' turtles, which they loved. I was starting to notice how happy crocheting was making people and how I enjoyed it so much too. After a few weeks of thinking, I wanted to make a website where people could purchase my items, and that’s how I was lead here.
